January 12, 2010- A massive 7.0 earthquake hits Haiti's largest city and capital, Port-au-Prince; at approximately 4:53pm. Buildings, roads, and vehicles began to shake as a result of mother natures tremors. The quake lasting a reportedly 30-40 seconds (yes seconds), destroying homes, schools, and businesses. However more notoriously, the lives of thousands of Haitian men, women, and children were immediately lost. My prayers go out to all the families who have lost loved ones, due to the initial effects of the quake, the cholera outbreak, or otherwise. God bless Haiti with a brighter future!!
ReplyDeleteA year after Haiti was ravaged by an earthquake that left nearly a quarter of a million dead, and cost almost $10 billion in damages, there is still so much work to be done building the communities of the small country. It is so inspiring to see groups like C2C who understand the importance of helping the communities of Haiti and you’re actively out rebuilding the country. Thank you for all your work, and for being a leader in the NGO community on this issue. May God bless the people of Haiti, and your community development efforts.
